Dr. Iqbal Musani is a Leading Pediatric Dentist specializing in infant & Children tongue ties at The Tongue-Tie Center in PUNE INDIA. He earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from the Pune University, Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Dental College & Hospital in 1996 and completed his Master of Dental Surgery from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bapuji Dental College & Hospital in 1999.
Dr. Musani did his Diploma from the Indian Academy of Laser Dentistry in 2012 and was the first Pediatric Dentist to introduce hard and soft tissue laser dentistry in clinical practice. The practice has the state of art Erbium Family Laser from Biolase.
Dr. Musani is a Life member of the Indian Society of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, Indian Academy of Laser Dentistry, SOLA Society For Oral laser applications in India and is actively involved in research in the fields of tongue tie / tongue function and Lasers and trains fellow colleagues in Laser Dentistry.
Dr. Musani is passionate about helping babies & mothers with feeding challenges due to oral restrictions (Tongue-Tie/ Lip-Tie). He understands impaired tongue function impacts the quality of life of the infants, children and their families. His approach to improving health and wellness verses treating symptoms and disease is one of its kind. Dr Musani says that the tongue should be considered a primary organ, interacting with many other body organs and systems. He sees infants as early as a day after birth for the revision of tongue-ties and lip-ties. H operates with the Erbium Chromium Laser which eliminates the need to place infants in the operating theatre and subjecting them to general anaesthesia.
When a mother has breastfeeding problems, she should feel confident and comfortable turning to her established system of medical support for help. Dr Musani provides an Erbium laser frenectomy treatment (Tongue & Lip Tie Release) and is proud to offer a comprehensive approach – educating families on appropriate oral motor and breastfeeding support referrals to best address tongue function and its impact on the rest of the body.
Dr. Musani is extensively researching the impact of tongue ties and the quality of life of infants, children and families. He also aims to increase the awareness about tongue ties amongst healthcare professionals. He has undertaken the following research projects in pursuit of this goal.
